Bredon Hill Cup 2026
The Bredon Hill Cup is a multi-art, multi-age, multi-category competition for people from all across LCTKD, and it is free to LCTKD students from all our arts. To give students the best chance possible, Instructors cannot compete, but everyone else of all ages and all teachers up to and including Tutor are encouraged to join in.
In 2026 there were a record breaking 264 on line video entries, from which finalists were selected for 25 separate competitions on a packed finals day over three arenas in Peopleton, Worcestershire in October 2026. There was an age difference of over 80 years between the youngest and oldest competitor.
A huge thank you to Mrs Helen M.F. Hall and her fabulous team of event organisers, judges, trophy makers and general helpers, and thanks to Sensei Barry Jones for a demonstration explaining Iaido to children, and Miss Flora Hamilton-Jones for a demonstration finale, punching through a stack of tiles. Big thanks also to all the competitors and the many spectators who came to support, and to all the Instructors who worked so hard in helping their students submit entries and prepare for the finals.

The Bredon Hill Cup Winner
There are points for every entry, and more if you are amongst the finalists, with the most for the winner. The Bredon Hill Cup Winner is the individual with the best points total from all the competitions.
The Grasshoppers Trophy Winner
is the TaeKwonDo or SAMA club with the best points total.
The Ray Howe Trophy Winner
in memory of our great friend who studied Tai Chi, Ensodo and Iaido with us, the Ray Howe trophy goes to the Tai Chi, Qigong or Enso club with the best points total.
The Jonathan Hamilton-Jones Trophy Winner
This new trophy in 2026 was presented in memory of our great friend and supporter, who died earlier this year. It be awarded to an LCTKD student who has gone "above and beyond" and has a special resilience.

Age Categories
All the categories, except Tag Team Sparring and the Team Synchronised and Creative Patterns, work in age ranges, so there are winners for each category in wee pee wee (3-5) pee wee (6-8), juvenile (9-11), junior (12-16), and adults - which we take to be 17 and over.
Team Synchronised and Team Creative patterns work in two categories according to arts, with TaeKwonDo in one category, and all other arts in the other.
