What's It All About?

The Bredon Hill Cup is a multi-art, multi-age, multi-category competition for people from all across LCTKD, and it is free to LCTKD students from all our arts. To give students the best chance possible, Instructors cannot compete, but everyone else of all ages and all teachers up to and including Tutor are encouraged to join in.

The last Bredon Hill Cup involved competitors across an incredible 76 year age range, from 9 different clubs and 6 different martial arts. There were a huge number of advance entries on line, and a packed finals day in Worcestershire in which three arenas worked at the same time under the eyes of a big team of judges.

Sparring Categories (direct entry on finals day)
Sparring (by age groups)
Tag Team Sparring (all ages together)

Finalists for the 3 patterns categories, and best moves, are selected by the judges from video entries submitted in advance, and finalists for the Mastermind category are selected from the highest scores in their submission, sent in advance. Then the finalists in these categories are invited through their Instructors.

The sparring categories are open for LCTKD students to enter on the day.

All the categories except Tag Team Sparring work in age ranges, so there will be winners for each category in pee wee (4-7), juvenile (8-11), junior (12-15), and over 16s.

There are points for every entry, and more if you are amongst the top scores in the category, with the most for the winner. You can send in as many video entries as you like, and every video entry gets points (as long as they are not simply the same thing sent again).

You only get entry points for one Mastermind entry, but you can send again if you change your mind, and we will replace the one you sent earlier with the new one if it scores higher.

The Bredon Hill Cup Winner
will be the individual with the best points total from all the categories.
There are also age group winners for Pee Wee, Juvenile, Junior and Adult.

The Grasshoppers Trophy Winner
will be the TaeKwonDo or SAMA club with the best points total.

The Ray Howe Trophy Winner
will be the Tai Chi or Enso club with the best points total.

Not sure whether you can do it?

Yes you can. Each year, students from all our arts take part, all sorts of ages from the youngest to the oldest, and all sorts of experience from absolute beginners to our Black Belts and Tutors. So don't worry, join in and remember you don't have to be a winner to help your class win, because even by entering you get points.
