Bredon Hill Cup

Bredon Hill Cup 2026

bhc26entrants

The deadline for advance video entries and Mastermind entries has now passed, with a record 263 on line entries submitted, from 10 different LCTKD clubs. Thank you and well done to everyone who entered. There's a point for you and your club for every single entry submitted.

You can still enter the Sparring and Tag Team Sparring categories on finals day, but all the other categories now go to the finals, and the finalists will be selected soon by the panel of judges. We don't expect this to be complete until the end of August, but we hope to be able to announce finalists by early September, giving you a month to get ready.

Don't Know About The Bredon Hill Cup?

The Bredon Hill Cup is a multi-art, multi-age, multi-category competition for people from all across LCTKD, and it is free to LCTKD students from all our arts. To give students the best chance possible, Instructors cannot compete, but everyone else of all ages and all teachers up to and including Tutor are encouraged to join in.

Entries so far this year have once again spanned an incredible 76 year age range, with over 220 videos from 10 different clubs and 5 different martial arts. We are looking forward to a packed finals day in Worcestershire, in which three arenas will be working at the same time under the eyes of our big team of judges.

The Competition Categories

Here are the categories:

Patterns Categories

Individual Traditional Patterns, Forms or Kata
Team Synchronised Traditional Patterns, Forms or Kata
Individual or Team Creative Patterns, Forms or Kata

Special Categories
Best Moves
A single technique or combination.
LCTKD Mastermind
Yes, like the show but not so scary for children who are in the finals!

Sparring Categories (direct entry on finals day)
Sparring (by age groups)
Tag Team Sparring (all ages together)

All the categories except Tag Team Sparring and Synchronised Patterns work in age ranges, so there will be winners for each category in wee pee wee (3-5) pee wee (6-8), juvenile (9-11), junior (12-16), and adults - which we take to be 17 and over.

Synchronised patterns work in two categories according to arts, with TaeKwonDo in one category, and all other arts in the other. Note that the categories might change slightly to improve the running of finals day.

You can send in as many video entries as you like, and every video entry gets points (as long as they are not simply the same thing sent again).

The Bredon Hill Cup Winner
There are points for every entry, and more if you are amongst the finalists, with the most for the winner. The Bredon Hill Cup Winner will be the individual with the best points total from all the categories.
There are also age group winners for Pre-Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Juvenile, Junior and Adult.

The Grasshoppers Trophy Winner
will be the TaeKwonDo or SAMA club with the best points total.

The Ray Howe Trophy Winner
will be the Tai Chi or Enso club with the best points total.
