LCTKD support for good causes

Our philosophy at LCTKD is built upon a belief in helping others, and we believe that our philosophy should show in action, not just words.  Over the years, we have supported a multitude of charities and good causes, through the commitment of thousands of hours of our time, specialist advice, fundraising events, in-kind contributions, sponsorship and donations from the LCTKD Good Causes Fund.  We are particularly interested in supporting a greater understanding of martial arts, and the LCTKD Good Causes Fund regularly supports students with the costs of travelling abroad to participate in events or pursue specialist martial arts training.

Over the years, we have made many commitments of free training, work placements and other activities to different causes.  In 2015 we brought all of our different commitments under a single heading, known as the LCTKD Ollie Bailey Scholarships.  These scholarships are named after a good friend of ours, and a karate black belt, who died tragically while still very young. That’s his picture below.

Under our Ollie Bailey Scholarships, we offer free ongoing training or placements to people who otherwise would not be able to take advantage of what we offer.  The Scholarships come with dedicated support throughout, and can be offered in conjunction with schools or colleges, or simply to deserving individuals.  If you would like to know more about LCTKD Ollie Bailey Scholarships, please get in touch.

Got a Good Cause?

We are always willing to offer time, specialist advice, participation in events, and other in kind support. If you are one of our students and have a cause you would like us to support, or a school, college or charity with an interest in our work, or just someone with an idea, contact us and let us know.

Even if it’s something as small as a prize for a raffle, don’t be afraid to ask.

What we’re up to.

As always, we continue our close work with the London Chinese Community Centre, and we helped promote the Centre with a series of demonstrations in London’s West End, including in Chinatown during the Chinese New Year celebrations.

Our schools workshops are continuing throughout the year, with more emphasis in supporting the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

We worked with Broadway Brownies, did a fundraiser for one of our students to help her visit an international Girl Guide event in the USA, and are helping another student raise funds for a trip to China.

We promoted the Uganda International Marathon for charity on behalf of one of our students.
